LTE/5G - Voice over LTE [VoLTE] Feature Limitation

Some users need Voice over LTE (VoLTE) to leverage their feature set offered by their ISPs (internet service provider). With VoTLE you can make phone calls over the LTE/4G network.

However, due to the complexity of the configuration of different VoLTE settings, our official Zyxel software (firmware versions) do not support VoLTE on our products. Different ISPs use different VoLTE settings and therefore, it's better to purchase the Zyxel equipment directly from your ISP.

There is a workaround where you can activate 3G ONLY on your LTE router and configure VoLTE, but for example in Germany, the 3G network is unavailable and therefore, this solution cannot work.

1) APN settings

Because Automatic APN settings are not supported when using the 3G network, manual APN is required.

Please navigate to "Broadband -> Cellular APN -> Edit" to edit your APN. To get your APN settings for your ISP, please use Google or contact your ISP to find out the correct APN settings for your SIM card.

2) Cellular Band Configuration

To get your device on the 3G band only, please navigate to "Network Setting -> Broadband -> Cellular Band" and select "3G" under Access Technology -> Preferred Access Technology instead of Auto.
