When facing slow internet connection, sometimes, it might be necessary to change the DNS-Server on your local network.
This especially comes up, when the resolving of network names is taking quite some time, but normal IP-related traffic is working fine.
Here a picture of the DNS Server being 192.168.1.1 before applying the changes:
Walkthrough Guideline:
- Go to Network Settings > Home Networking
- Scroll down until you find the "DNS Values" Setting and set this to "Static"
- Enter the desired DNS Server - in this example, we are using Google's DNS Server 8.8.8.8, since this has proven to be a quite fast and stable DNS Server.
- Apply the settings.
- Unplug and replug your device and recheck the DNS settings:
