Zyxel LTE5366-M608 [4G LTE-A Indoor] - Quick set-up / WiFi schedule / Port Forwarding

This article provides a comprehensive guide to the initial setup of the Zyxel LTE5366 device, including step-by-step instructions on configuring automatic WiFi scheduling and setting up port forwarding.

LED designation

Step 1: Hardware Setup

  1. Insert SIM Card (for LTE Connection):
    • Ensure the router is powered off.
    • Insert your Mini SIM card into the designated slot on the router.
    • Replace the cover once the SIM card is securely in place.

    Note: If using a Micro-SIM or Nano-SIM, ensure it’s inserted correctly into an adapter to prevent device damage.

Step 2: Verify LED Status

  • Power LED: Should be solid white, indicating the router is powered on.
  • Internet LED: Blinks to indicate the router is searching for a network and turns solid when connected.
  • Wi-Fi LED: Blinks slowly while connecting, then stays solid once the Wi-Fi is ready.

    Tip: The signal strength is indicated by the number of bars on the LED display—the more bars, the stronger the connection.

Step 3: Connect to Wi-Fi

  1. Locate the Wi-Fi SSID and Password: Find these on a label on the router (default SSID for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands).
  2. Connect a Device to Wi-Fi: Using a laptop or smartphone, select the router’s Wi-Fi network (SSID) and enter the password.

Step 4: Access the Web Configuration Tool

  1. Connect to the Router: Use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to one of the yellow LAN ports or connect via Wi-Fi.
  2. Log In to the Web Interface:
    • Open a web browser and go to http://192.168.1.1.
    • Enter the default credentials:
      • Username: admin
      • Password: 1234
    • Click Login to access the configuration interface.

Step 5: Port Forwarding Schedule WiFi

  • Navigate to Configuration > Network > Wireless LAN > Scheduling

  • Click on Enable to activate the scheduling.
  • Choose On or Off to configure whether you would like the WiFi to be turned on or off during a specific period.
  • Select a specific time and day of the week for scheduling. The option “Every day” counts for each day of the week. 
    After configuration, click on Apply.

The example turns the WiFi between midnight and 6 in the morning off.
