MyZyxel is currently programmed to make sure, that our customers use the most recent firmware versions on their devices. This compromises security threats to a minimum and makes sure that the customers are running the latest feature-packed versions of the device they bought.
However, it might be that MyZyxel prompts you that your device is not upgraded to latest firmware versions, even though this in fact is the case.
The reason for this and the solution:
The reason for this behavior is, that most of our products after registering them to MyZyxel are not feeding back their firmware version. This is by design not needed (for most Access Points for example there is no benefit feeding this information back to MyZyxel). However, MyZyxel indicates these devices then as "not updated".
You can workaround these things by only registering devices, which benefit from this. This might be license-connected devices which require MyZyxel such as USGs with UTM Profiles mapped to them, wireless controllers with additional Access-Points-licenses etc.
If you already have a device registered and need that removed, please contact our support staff, we will be glad to help you out on that!
