Linking my SSL VPN Max. Client License to my ZyWall USG is not working!
Imagine this - you purchased a concurrent SSL client license for your ZyWall USG to be able to run more SSL VPN users on your system, but the MyZyxel portal is not letting you - what could be?
If your device name starts with ZyWall USG, then unfortunately, you have purchased the wrong license or bought a license for a device that no longer can be upgraded via licenses.
Both the ZyWall USG and licenses have reached their end of sales and are no longer supported devices. All available licenses are only valid for ZyWall or USG devices.
When we are talking about ZyWall USG devices, we mean the following devices:
- ZyWall USG 20, 20W, 50, 100, 200, 300, 1000, 2000
Where is the difference between ZyWall USG, ZyWall & USG?
The ZyWall devices are basically Next-Gen. USG devices, but without included UTM license bundle on purchase. The ZyWall-series consist of a ZyWall 110, 310 & 1100, the USG-series covers USG20-VPN / 20W-VPN / 40 / 40W / 60 / 60W / 110 / 210 / 310 / 1100 / 2200-VPN . For these devices, you can use the concurrent SSL client license.
What can I do now? I need a VPN!
The only thing left to do is to seek alternative setups to achieve your goal. In this case, we highly recommend going for L2TP over IPSec VPN instead - it's user-friendly since most platforms offer onboard integrated client software (no licenses needed).
