The importance of rubber-feet for your USG/VPN/ATP-Gateway: Installation Best Practice

Installation Best Practice - ATP100, USG FLEX 100 & the like. What might sound like a silly title, is actually a full-blown truth: mounting rubber feet on the bottom of your firewall is very important and is a crucial element in preserving the full function of your firewall! They are critical and greatly contribute to your firewall's health: When the firewall runs, it creates heat. To prevent the firewall from overheating, rubber feet raise and elevate the firewall enough from the surface to allow airflow below it.

Overheat can cause it to shut off automatically, freeze or even damage the hardware.

Rubber feet are always included in our firewalls and look like this:

Please make sure to mount the rubber feet on your gateway to maintain full functionality and avoid overheating.
