1. Admins & Teams - General Concept
Nebula is all about intuitive control, and depending on the setup of your organization, there might be different concepts on how you want to manage your staff and their access to the Nebula Control Center. Thus, since Nebula Phase 11 (April 2021), Nebula features on the MSP setup two different core concepts:
- Admin method is recommended if MSP requires one agent managing and overseeing different customer networks
- Teams method is recommended if MSP requires multiple agents managing and overseeing multiple large customer networks
To see how the creation and distribution of the Admin - and Teams-method works, please check the below graphs:
Admin-Method
Teams-Method
In very easy, layman terms, it can be said that the Admin Method sets up the access rights for a singular admin account, while with teams, you can distribute multiple users at the same time with a given set of access rights. The Admin and Teams menu-tabs can be found via:
MSP > Configure > Admins & Teams
2. Merged Privilege
Within the Nebula Control Center, there are multiple places where you can define access rights to an organization/site, and these are weighted in their priority as follows:
Delegated Authority > Organization Level > Site Level
Also, here a sheet showcasing the right distribution:
In this particular example, since the Group-Wide Administrator is set with Full-Delegate (highest priority), in the end, this will overweigh the other settings.
This concept is referred to as "merged privileges" and can be checked in the organization-wide admin listing:
