This article will show some troubleshooting tips when dealing with an extender. In this article, we're going to take a look at the WRE6505v2.

1) Can't access the extender
This topic is a little bit broader, and we already have an article on how to access your device:
Accessing your router via Web GUI
To access the WRE6505, you need to go into http://zyxelsetup (for Windows) or http://zyxelsetup.local (if you have a MAC). You can also login via the IP address of the extender - which is usually 192.168.1.2 (http://192.168.1.2)
2) All the LED lights are not lit up

3) The device isn't working as it should
If the device is not behaving as it should, you could actually RESET the unit by pressing the WPS button for 15 seconds.
Pressing the WPS button

Push twice within 5 seconds | The WRE6505v2 begins connecting to a wireless client via WPS. |
Hold for 5 to 10 seconds | The WRE6505v2 keeps its configuration and reboots. |
Hold for more than 10 seconds | The WRE6505v2 resets its configuration to factory default and reboots. |
4) I want to change my WiFi password
A) Login to the device (see Can't access the extender).
B) If it's your first time, you'll be asked to change the password of the device (not the WiFi password).
C) Go to Section B in the picture:
And then navigate to
Configuration -> Network -> Wireless LAN 2.4G
5) I can connect to my extender, but I have no internet
When you can connect via WiFi to your extender but have no internet, it could be the case that the extender (WRE6505v2) is not connected to your router.
You have to then navigate to
Configuration -> Network -> Wireless LAN 2,4G
Then go to the AP Select tab:
Then enter the password of the router's WiFi:
And it should say successful.
Now do the same for the Wireless LAN 5G menu:
Configuration -> Network -> Wireless LAN 5G
