NR/FWA Series [5G] - Cellular Lock

This article should explain the basic function of the cellular lock feature on your NR7101, FWA710.

Please note:
Nebula FWA510 - does not support Cellular Lock
Nebula NR5101 - does not support Cellular Lock

(Read more about the available features in the User's Guide or datasheet)

Basically, Cellular Lock should help you that your device will prioritize one base station if you are located within reach of multiple base stations.

Let us take a look at an example configuration:

In the above case you see that two base stations within reach had been defined.

Please note that there is no priority order for the cells configured on the Cell Lock page.
The NR7101 limits the main connection to the specified cell(s). If there are more than 1 cells specified, the connection would be based on the signal level of the cells.
For example, I set 2 cells, but the RFCN 1275 does not have necessarily higher priority than the RFCN 9560.

Cell lock restricts the cell used for connection.
It does not restricts to the cell that is used for CA (SCC).
For example, if I set an LTE cell (RFCN 9560, PCI 444) on Cell Lock page, the NR7101 will use this cell to connect to the mobile network.
If carrier aggregation happens, there will be some secondary cells used, these secondary cells would not be restricted to the settings on Cell Lock page.
