Nebula carries the benefit of super-intuitive, easily streamlined networking settings, meaning that you can configure a lot of devices in the same way with just a few clicks using SSID Tags.
However, sometimes this might be exactly what you do not want to achieve - picture this: You have two Access points in deployment, and you want them to broadcast different SSIDs - how can we get this setup to work in Nebula? Fairly easily - let's dive right into it!
In order to achieve this, we have to use the Tag-functionality in Nebula's SSID and Access Point menu:
- Navigate to Access Points > Monitor > Access Points and add a unique tag to each Access-Point, e.g. "SSID1" for AP1 and SSID2 for AP2
- Navigate to Access Points > Configure > SSID Overview and head over to create your two SSIDs:
- Now go ahead and click on the "Tagging" field, and you can now choose all tags you have created before. Select the tag which matches the tag given to the AP which you want the SSID to be broadcasted from. In our case, we choose the "SSID1"-tag for the SSID which we want to be broadcasted by AP1, and "SSID2"-tag is chosen for the SSID for AP2.
- Click on the "Save"-button to apply your settings.
