Daily Report with Gmail as Mail Server (Create & use App Passwords)

Why can't the daily report be sent when I configure Gmail as the mail server in Email Daily Report? This article will show you how to fix the problem of sending a daily report using the "Password for Application".

1. Check сonfigurations on the USG/ATP/VPN

Correct settings are shown in the picture below. Please, check if all your settings match the example below. It is also required to use the "Password for the Application" as the password for SMTP Authentication. How to Create & use App Password can be found in this article.

2. Configurations on Gmail account

Requires 2-Step Verification to be enabled. App Passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-Step Verification turned on.

2.1 Enable two-factor authentication

  • Click "GET STARTED"

  • Enter your phone number and choose a verification method.

  • Enter the confirmation code that came to your phone number and click "NEXT."

  • Click "TURN ON", and it will activate two-step authentication.

2.2 Create and use App Passwords
  • Open your Google Account and click on "App password", as in the picture below.

  • Select "Other (Custom name)", specify a name and click "GENERATE".

  • Your password is ready. Use the App password for SMTP Authentication.
