Zyxel Nebula 5G Router FWA Series - How to Enter or Disable the SIM Card PIN Code

Some users of Zyxel FWA Series 5G routers (including FWA505, FWA510, and FWA710) may experience Internet connectivity issues due to a commonly overlooked step: entering the SIM card’s PIN code. This article provides an in-depth explanation of how the SIM card's default PIN can block the router from connecting to the mobile network, preventing access to the internet.

While the setup process for all three models is similar, the article uses the FWA505 as the example. However, the same steps apply to FWA510 and FWA710. Customers can also refer to the user manual for additional information and setup guidance.

This article outlines simple solutions for disabling or entering the SIM PIN code, either via a mobile phone or directly through the router's web interface, to resolve connectivity issues.

Note: If your SIM card has a PIN code, the simplest way to remove it is to insert it into a mobile device and disable the PIN. Once done, insert the SIM card into the Router. This should prevent any SIM card locking issues, and your internet should work immediately, assuming the SIM card is functioning correctly.

Note: Entering the wrong PIN exceeding a set number of times will lock the SIM card

If your SIM card has a PIN code configured, you will see the following message when you log in to the Web interface. Click on “Ok,” and you will be redirected to the SIM card settings page, where you can enter the PIN code for your SIM card. We recommend activating “Auto Unlock PIN” so you don't have to enter the PIN code after every reboot.
