The Cable Diagnostics feature on Zyxel Nebula allows you to check the physical condition of Ethernet cables connected to switch ports. It can detect issues such as open circuits, short circuits, or impedance mismatches, and estimate the distance to a fault. This helps in identifying and troubleshooting wiring problems without the need for external tools.
Note: The displayed cable length value may vary depending on the cable quality and the connected remote device. Also, cable length measurements are generally more accurate when the cable is longer than 10 meters.
Go to Site-wide > Devices > Switches > [Switch Name] > [Port Number], scroll down to Cable Diagnostics, and click it.

Unknown: The Nebula Device failed to run cable diagnostics on the cable connected to this port. Unsupported: The port is a fiber port or it is not active. |
| Cable Length |
Value: Total length of the Ethernet cable. There are devices on both sides of the cable N/A: Pair Status is Open or Short, Go to Check the Distance to fault. Unsupported: The Nebula Device chipset does not support |
