Why can’t I register my device in Nebula? It shows “This device is locked by device owner.”
If you try to register a device in Nebula using the QR code, serial number, or MAC/password, you may see the message:
“This device is locked by device owner.”
This happens because the current device owner has enabled the ownership protection function in Nebula. This prevents other users from taking ownership of the device.
How to solve this issue?
To proceed, you have three options:
Ask the current owner to disable the protection function (as shown in the screenshot below), or
Ask the current owner to remove the device from their Nebula organisation, or
If you are the new owner and cannot contact the previous one, reach out to technical support for assistance.
