IPSec Client - My IPSEC tunnel won´t open on Windows 10!

In the following article you will find useful information about troubleshooting your IPsec VPN Client in Windows 10:

Probably you have already followed the instructions at:  VPN Client To Site Setup on USG/ZyWall Devices

If the tunnel still doesn't establish, the most common issue is the following scenario:

Then Tunnel can not be established and in the Console Log of the IPsec VPN Client you will find the following message:

20150806 14:12:55:088 TSocket No socket for IPV4 address 192.168.0.20:500
20150806 14:12:55:088 TSocket message data type IKE (0) could not be sent

If this is the case

  • Go to 'Control panel' > 'Administrative Tools' > 'Services'

  • Set the 'Startup type' of the IKEEXT service to 'Disabled'

  • Restart the VPN Client software

Solution 2: Re-install the VPN Client software (same release number if you don't have 'Update Option', any release number otherwise).
