Zyxel Device Registration [MyZyxelPortal] - how to register and unregister your device on MyZyxel.com portal

In this article, you will learn how to register your Zyxel device at portal.myzyxel.com. We will take the USG FLEX firewall as an example. To some extent, this article is applicable to all Zywall/ATP/VPN/USG/USG FLEX devices. Also in this article, we will explain how to transfer/re-register a ZyWall, ATP, VPN, USG or USG FLEX series firewall from one MyZyxel portal account to another without contacting technical support. We will also walk you through the process of removing/deleting/re-registering the device in MyZyxel Portal.

Note: To complete the procedures outlined in this article, it's essential to ensure that the Device is connected to the internet and that you have a computer with internet access. If after following the instructions and for some reason you are unable to transfer/re-register or even first register your device, please contact technical support following the instructions at the end of this article.

Register Directly via MyZyxel portal

  • Create a MyZyxel Account or use the existing
  • Login to MyZyxel portal
  • Choice Menu "Device Registration
  • Enter Firewall Device information - "MAC Address" and "Serial Number"
  • Click "Submit"

Note: If your device is not found during registration with the message “Cannot find the device,” it could be due to an incorrect MAC address or serial number, or because the device is ineligible for registration (e.g., an unmanaged switch or Powerline device with no cloud service connection). For issues with devices like firewalls, AP, managed switches please contact technical support for assistance.


The warning message you received "Click "Next" to activate services on your device" means that UTM services will be activated and their usage will commence immediately upon activation.

After clicking the "Next" button, the corresponding confirmation window "Registered Successfully" will appear. Now you can check the device list.

Register during initial setup via Web GUI

Note: the exact process may vary depending on the specific model and firmware version 

Access the Web GUI: Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your Zyxel firewall in the address bar. The default IP address for Zyxel firewalls is often 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.168.1 in new H Series Firewall. If you're unsure, check your firewall's documentation for the correct IP address.

Login: You will be prompted to log in. Enter your username and password. If you haven't changed the default login use "admin" and "1234"

Navigate to Device Registration: Once you're logged in, navigate to the section of the web GUI where device registration is managed

Re-register / Transfer a Firewall via MyZyxel Portal

Note: If you want to unregister/delete your device from the MyZyxel Portal without registering for another account, please contact our support team we can complete the delete/unregister process for you.

Log in to the firewall using the Web GUI (login must be performed under a user with administrator privileges Default: admin -> 1234)

Go to Configuration -> Licensing -> Registration

To re-register/transfer the firewall to another account, go to portal.myzyxel.com (please pay attention, it is very important to follow this link from your device page, as it contains the data required to re-register/transfer your device to a new account).

​​Note: After following the link you may see a warning in your browser: "The information you're about to submit is not secure", don't be afraid of it, it's not a risk to you, just click "Send anyway" and you will be redirected to MyZyxel Portal. The redirection may take 7-10 seconds, after clicking on "Send anyway" just wait for a while. 

To initiate the registration transfer process, log in to MyZyxelPortal using the new account under which you wish to register this unit. Once the registration is complete, the device will be automatically removed from the previous account.


Upon successful login, you will be directed to the device registration page. The "MAC Address" and "Serial Number" fields will auto-populate; please ensure that the information in these fields accurately matches the device intended for re-registration/transfer. If all the details are correct, proceed by clicking the "Submit" button.

After clicking the "Submit" button, the corresponding confirmation window "Registered Successfully" will appear. Now you can check the device list.

Delete/Remove a Firewall from the MyZyxel Portal

If you wish to remove/delete a firewall from MyZyxel Portal, please follow the steps below. We request certain proof of ownership information to ensure the process is secure and authorized.

Note: If you want to unregister/delete your device from the MyZyxel Portal without registering for another account, please contact our support team we can complete the delete/unregister process for you.

Steps for Removing the Firewall:

Support requests must be created from the same account to which the firewall is registered

OR

Present a receipt or other purchase documentation as evidence of device ownership
OR

Furnish a photograph of the device displaying the serial number and both MAC addresses

If the registration/re-registration process fails

If, for any reason, you encounter difficulties during the device re-registration/transfer process, or if you wish to remove your device from the MyZyxel Portal, kindly reach out to our Technical Support team with the following essential information:

Support requests must be created from the same account to which the firewall is registered

OR

Present a receipt or other purchase documentation as evidence of device ownership

Furnish a photograph of the device displaying the serial number and both MAC addresses
