Zyxel Service Provider Devices [ISP] - How to find my Internet Service Provider

Service Provider (SP) Devices like routers and modems are supplied and supported by your internet service provider (ISP), even if made by companies like Zyxel. To identify your ISP, check your bill, device labels, or use online tools. Models such as NR7305, NR5111, and NR5309 are typically ISP-issued. Knowing the roles of Zyxel and your ISP can help you manage your network and resolve issues more effectively.

What Are Service Provider Devices?

Service Provider (SP) Devices are networking devices, such as routers or modems, supplied by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). These devices are often pre-configured by the ISP to work seamlessly with their network, ensuring optimal performance and minimal setup effort for the customer.

Why Should You Contact Your Service Provider About Your Device?

Even if the device is manufactured by Zyxel, if it was provided to you by your ISP, it is classified as a Service Provider (SP) Device. In such cases:

  • Zyxel is not responsible for direct technical support or warranty handling.
  • Your ISP is solely responsible for providing technical assistance, firmware updates, configuration guidance, and warranty service.

This arrangement ensures that you receive support tailored to your provider's specific network environment.

Ways to Identify Your Internet Service Provider

If you’re unsure which ISP supplied your Zyxel device, you can try the following:

  • Check the Device: Look for any ISP-specific branding, stickers, or contact information on the device.
  • Review Your Internet Bills: The name of your ISP will be listed in your regular service invoices.
  • Use Our Guide: Visit What is my ISP? to help identify your internet provider.
  • Contact Zyxel Support: If still in doubt, our team can assist in verifying your device’s origin.
