How to configure inter-routing between different VLANs

This article will look at inter-VLAN routing on our L3 Switches.

XS3800, XGS4700, etc ... It should be noted that this works well with our switches from the XGS1930 and XS1930 series.

As for our scenario, we want to reduce traffic to the Security Gateway and use the XS3800 as a router for the inter-VLAN traffic.

First, we need to add the VLAN to the Security Gateway.

Configuration > Network > Interface > VLAN > Add

Now we add the same  VLANs on the Switch.

Advanced Application > VLAN > VLAN Configuration > Static VLAN Setup

Then we need to give the Switch an IP in each of those VLANs

Basic Setting > IP Setup > IP Configuration

Next, we need to change the default router/default gateway for the Network clients

Configuration > Network > Interface > VLAN > Edit

The Network clients now use the switch as a gateway/router.
