Nebula License & Inventory: Overview of License and Device Management Features

The Nebula License & Inventory section in Zyxel Nebula Control Center provides a clear and structured overview of all licensing and device-related information within an organization. This area allows administrators to quickly check the current license tier, monitor expiration timelines, review device license status, track unused or expired licenses, and access essential tools for adding, assigning, or transferring licenses when needed.

This overview highlights the key functions of each tab — Overview, Devices, Licenses, Trial, Change Log, and Purchase History — helping users understand what information is available and how it supports effective license monitoring and network management.

Nebula License Management and Monitoring

Nebula is a cloud-based network management platform from Zyxel. It supports switches, APs, firewalls, and more. The following section describes license management screens in NCC. Unused licenses can be transferred from a Nebula Device in an Organization to another Nebula Device in an Organization. License & Inventory Overview Screen

Use these screens to view licenses and Nebula Devices in the organization. Click Organization-wide > License & inventory > Overview to access this screen.

In this section, Nebula administrators can quickly assess the status of licenses and devices within the organization. The page displays:

  • Organization status — the current licensing tier (Base/Plus/Pro), its expiration date, and any issues related to NCC, Security, Secure WiFi, or CNP licenses.

  • License status by expiration date — a visual chart showing the distribution of licenses: expired, expiring within 90 days, expiring after 90 days, and inactive.

  • Detailed device information — a breakdown of models across categories (Access Point, Switch, Security Appliance, Mobile Router), showing the number of devices, unlicensed or expired devices, those with upcoming expirations, and any inactive licenses.

  • License type filter — allows users to select which license category to display (Pro Pack, Plus Pack, Gold Security Pack, etc.).

  • Quick actions — add or purchase licenses, transfer them, assign them, or check license-related issues.

How to add licenses in Nebula

Use this screen to add licenses to an organization. 
Click Organisation-wide > License & inventory > Overview > Actions > Add more licenses to access this screen.
Click Finish.  The license is now assigned to your organization and site.
 
Note: A newly assigned license will not start its expiration countdown/timer until activated. Multiple add-on Plus Pack and Pro Pack licenses can be assigned to the same Nebula Device managed by NCC.

The log also shows the change in state of the organization, as a before and after, as a result of each action.
