Zyxel MPro Mesh (Wi-Fi EasyMesh) is a certification program that defines user-friendly, self-adapting home and small office Wi-Fi networks with multiple access points. It aims to ensure easy installation, usage, and multi-vendor interoperability. This technology provides consumers and service providers with greater flexibility in choosing Wi-Fi EasyMesh devices for home deployment.

This article offers a general overview of the series and may not apply uniformly to every model, software/firmware version. Prior to purchasing or using the device, please consult the model/version-specific documentation or reach out to technical support for accurate information.
Wi-Fi EasyMesh utilizes a controller to manage the network, comprising the controller and additional access points known as agents. The establishment of controllers to oversee and coordinate activities among the agents ensures that each access point operates without interference, delivering expanded, uniform coverage and more efficient service. | |

Device Requirement: Ensure you have a Zyxel Device that can function as a controller, which can be either an MPro Mesh Router or an MPro Mesh Extender.
SSID and Password Consistency: All devices in your network (controller and extenders) must have the same SSID and password for AP steering and band steering to work effectively. If needed, change the SSID and password on your Zyxel Device (controller) to match.
Setting Up MPro Mesh Controller and Extender with WiFi
- Using your mobile device, connect to the controller through Wi-Fi
- Open the MPro Mesh app
- Enter the provided username and password to access the web GUI on the device (Typically, you can find the access credentials on a sticker located on the back of the device)
In our example, we utilized the DX3300 as the controller. As illustrated in the accompanying image, we are currently connected to the device. Now, to add an extender, simply click on 'Mesh Devices +.
We have the option to connect the extender in two ways: wirelessly or through a wired connection. The choice depends on the network's requirements and capabilities. In the first example, we will explore a wireless connection, while in the second example, we'll delve into a wired connection
Let's explore the wireless connection of the extender, using the WX3100 as an example. Start by connecting the extender to the power supply and wait for it to power up. In the MPro Mesh application, click on 'Mesh Devices +' and select the connection type, in this case, 'Use WiFi.' It's crucial to position the extender within the coverage area of the controller, so place them as close to each other as possible during setup. Afterward, click 'Next' in the application and press the 'WPS' button on the extender device. Wait for the devices to pair.
The merge process may take some time, please wait until the merge was successful!
In the next step, we introduced an additional extender, this time using a wired connection.
Setting up Extender with Wired
Continuing with the example, we selected the WX3100 and connected it using a cable. The cable is linked from port 2 (LAN1) on the controller to LAN1 on the extender.
Management with the MPro Mesh App
With the Mpro Mesh App, changing the model name to 'Home Router' or your preferred designation is a straightforward process. Additionally, you can effortlessly monitor your WiFi clients and assess their link quality. If needed, the application allows you to restrict access to specific users
