Zyxel Complete guide to managing Zyxel licenses through cloud platforms - Nebula, Zyxel Circle, MyZyxelPortal and the Marketplace

This guide provides a concise explanation of how to manage Zyxel licenses across all major cloud platforms: Nebula, Zyxel Circle, MyZyxelPortal, and the Zyxel Marketplace. It outlines where each platform is used, how to view and assign licenses, how to renew or transfer them, and how to purchase new licenses. The overview also highlights changes to older Zyxel license models and important notes about upcoming phase-outs. This summary helps administrators choose the right platform and manage Zyxel licenses efficiently across their networks.

Nebula Control Center (NCC) – management of Nebula licenses and Security Services for compatible cloud services for all compatible devices, including—but not limited to—Wi-Fi access points, switches, gateways, and security appliances.

MyZyxelPortal – registration and management of non-Nebula (standalone) devices, activation of service licenses, and basic account administration for Zyxel products.

Zyxel Circle – manage, renew, and assign licenses (including Security Services and Nebula) across multiple organizations and devices in one centralized platform.

Marketplace - In Zyxel Marketplace, you can purchase, renew, and manage licenses for Zyxel products, including Nebula and Security Services, directly online.

Other - Additional resources covering special cases such as license transfers, lifecycle changes, and other topics not included in the main sections.

License Phase Out [EoL] – important notifications about end-of-sale, end-of-support, and lifecycle changes for aging or discontinued Zyxel licenses.

  •  Zyxel UTM License Phase-Out Update - Zyxel is gradually phasing out legacy UTM licenses on older firewall models. IDP / App Patrol and Anti-Spam stopped receiving updates in 2022, while Content Filter, Anti-Virus, and SecuReporter remain supported until 2025 (FW 4.65+ required).
Due to these changes, the old “5-in-1” packages were replaced by “3-in-1” (USG/ZyWALL) and “2-in-1” (NSG) license models. Full security services, including Sandboxing, are available on USG FLEX and ATP.

Affected devices:

  • USG20(W)-VPN (only Content Filter and Anti-Virus)

  • USG40(W)/60(W)/110/210/310/1100/1900/2200

  • ZyWALL 110/310/1100
