Log in to the NAS

Create an iSCSI LUN
- In Storage Manager, click "Create".
- Specify the LUN name, and size, and allocate storage space. Confirm the settings to create the LUN.
use the "i" -icon for further info. Confirm the settings by clicking on "Next" and "Apply" to finish the setup.
Set up the iSCSI Target
- Go to the iSCSI settings on the NAS.
Administrative Tools > iSCSI Initiator > iSCSI Initiator Properties > Configuration- Configure the iSCSI Target by providing a unique name, IQN (iSCSI Qualified Name), and a secure password.
- Back to NAS click iSCSI Targets > Create > Enter the information of Name, IQN, and Password > Next
- The password is defined by the user and only allows 12-16 characters with 0-9, a-z, A-Z.
- Create
- Select the LUN created earlier...
- Apply
- The target is ready to use
Mount the iSCSI LUN in Windows
In Windows go to
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > iSCSI Initiator > iSCSI Initiator Properties > Targets Type the IP address in "Target:"and click "Quick Connect"
- Select the target and click "Connect"
- Click "Advanced". Type the password in "Target secret" > click "OK"
- Then the target will show "Connected"
Verification
After all upper steps are done, the iSCSI has already been mounted in WIndows. We can check this with "Disk Management".
But before use, the disk needs to be initialized and format as the usable volume. Please follow the steps below:
- Right-click > select Initialize Disk > choose GPT > OK
- Right-click > select "new simple volume" to create a volume. Wait until the volume creation is finished.
- Then the disk will be a local disk and users can save any files in the volume.
