Zyxel Network-Attached Storage [NAS] - Configuration of Copy/Sync button

In this article, we will describe the usage of the copy/sync button of the NAS series. You can configure two modes. a copy-mode and a sync-mode 

Copy mode

mceclip0.png Log in to the NAS and find the Backup Planer app
  • Go to the Copy/Sync settings 
  • Specify a target folder on the NAS 
  • Specify the USB source 
  • Specify the direction (NAS > USB; USB > NAS)
  • Choose if you want to create a new folder for the copied files OR if you want to replace the files.
  • Choose if replaced files shall be backed up
  • Click on Apply.

    You now can press the Copy/Sync button shortly to start copying the files.

Sync mode

  • Go to the Copy/Sync settings 
  • Go to Sync Settings
  • specify a target on the NAS
  • specify a USB drive to sync from/to
  • define the sync direction (NAS > USB, USB > NAS, NAS <> USB)
  • Choose if files should be backed up and if they where
  • Click on Apply.

    You now can press the Copy/Sync button until you hear a beep tone to start the sync process.
